Week 13

Good morning!

Well, officially tomorrow is the first day of Week 13, but I know it's been awhile since I've written. Last week I had the option of "vienna sausage" or "lime" for the size and while either may be accurate, neither is as cute as "tic tac," "mondo brazil nut," "sugar packet," or this week's....nutter butter!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this week is the best so far. :)

Last week was boring, but this week will be more exciting because:
-Sean thinks the painting in the extra bedrooms is almost done
-I get my nuchal translucency ultrasound this Tuesday
-I get my "normal" ultrasound this Wednesay!

Somewhere will all of those ultrasounds I should get measurements and "inside" pictures that I can share. Here's hoping that we really do have a Nutter Butter and we're not still in the sugar packet stage, because I'm about ready to be done with the first 3 months.

In other news, Benson has a tummy ache (although the icky parasite is gone), but he got groomed yesterday, so maybe it's just nerves at this point. We meet the pet sitter this Tuesday to make sure everyone gets along and then we are going to Disney (YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) next week (Week 14)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got a really good deal on plane tickets, and got in on the free meal plan special, so it should be fun. :) Thank you Mindy for the gift certificate. I can't do the roller coasters (gee darn) but I can swim and shop to my heart's content. :)

We will be traveling again at the beginning of November (we both had vacation approved for Grandma Jane's birthday), and at the end of November (yippee Mom's turkey (and everything, and pie!) and baby shower!), and then that will probably be it until after the baby makes it's debut. Because I'm already having a little bit of "back issues" I guess long car rides are to be avoided once the extra "spare tire" starts getting really big.

First Yard Sale!

Our first baby yard sale! It seems a little strange to be going to these so early, but winter is not a good time for yard sales, even down here. When the weather (finally) cools off, we can do the consignment shops instead. :)

So, anyway, we found some cute toys, a couple of good books, a little warm pajama thing with a cow on it, and our playpen/pack and play thing (Graco!) It comes with a little changing table and the whole thing folds up into a carrying bag (with no handle, who thinks of these things?). All in all, $35 for a very successful trip. Sean needs to go back to the bank before next weekend. :)

Also exciting this weekend, we found our copy of The Little Engine that Could. The book is HUGE but that just means bigger pictures. :) We also already have a copy of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.

Now I just need to remember to add playpen sheets and other accessories to the registry. :)

Week 11 Dr Appointment

Hello!

Well, my seccond "first" doctor's appointment was wonderful! The old doctor's office hadn't gotten around to faxing my records, but the new nurse made sure they were in by the end of my appointment. The really nice doctor talked to be about all of the other tests he wants to do, I got the prescription I was trying to get the first time, I got to ask all my questions (that he hadn't already answered) and I have an appointment for my next visit already! It sure doesn't hurt that the building/office is so much nicer! Yay!

And....confirmation! The baby is in there and it has a good, strong heartbeat. It actually make a pretty neat rhythm mixed in with mine, which was also really loud. The doctor was surprised at how low he had to go to find the heartbeat, but I can really feel that it's been moving around, so I guess we'll see next week.

My first ultrasound is 9/2 and we will try to post the pictures, measurements, heart rate, and whatever else I get from that. After that, it's Disney on 9/5 (roller coasters are out (yay!), but "simple" waterslides are just fine :) for the anniversary/babymoon that was perfectly scheduled before we knew it had to be.

Week 11

Hello everyone!

We thought that this might be a good way to share information, photos, etc. over the next 29 or however many weeks or so.

According to one of my newsletters, our little munchkin is now the size of a little sugar packet, but weighs as much as two. As for mom, besides being a basketcase, she still wants potatoes, and vegetable soup, but probably not until after the air conditioner is fixed. Yogurt is still awesome though. And we are showing a little, teeny, tiny bit, maybe. :)

This past weekend, we did our test drives for the "new" car; thanks again to Sean for making me admit that a short car is probably a bad plan. Sean is willing to wait on the new car until closer to the delivery although we are still trying to figure out if the extra storage would be worth the gas mileage for November (I am leaning towards using UPS's gas). We do like the Sante Fe out of all the one's we've tried, so now we can use the internet to find the "perfect" one. :)

We also are almost done with the baby registry thing. We tried Target and some other places but finally decided on Baby's R Us. It looks like they have stores all over, the list will also work at Toys R Us and on the internet, and they had a better selection than most other places. For the temporary stuff (like clothes), there are lots of consignment shops down here, but we found some cute stuff. I still like the furniture best at IKEA though, and they don't have a registry so we will figure something else out.

I also finally saw the Harry Potter movie! (Movie theaters have air conditioning!)

The big news this week is that I have a new "first" appointment on Friday. Yippee! My first "first" appointment was a big letdown because they had some sort of emergency so the waiting room line was over an hour long and then the appointment felt rushed (really, you have more questions?). Sean says the new hospital is easier to get to anyway, which is important since he gets to drive there at the end of this thing, and they have an ultrasound machine in their office so I only need to try to remember 1 address. :) I think it's still a little too early for pictures (and they didn't tell me to drink a gallon of water), but we may get a heartbeat this time.
